Gezahegn Lemma Fituma/ mar 3 2015

TPLF led EPRDF has conducted at least five national elections (1992, 1995, 2000, 2005, and 2010) , In 1992 TPLF claimed to have won 96.6 percent of the vote that aimed for establishing elected local and regional Administrations. In the 2010 National Election, TPLF led EPRDF claimed another landslide victory with 99.6 %, in 2010 local election again a landslide victory with 99.9%.

According to a schedule released by the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia, TPLF led EPRDF will conduct another horrors to elect a new government on 24 May 2015, another embarrassing 100% landslide victory.

As we all know in In 2005, Ethiopians faced unspeakable horrors that left a stamp in our heart, Following the parliamentary elections in May of that year, hundreds of citizens who protested the daylight theft of that election were massacred or seriously shot and wounded by police and security personnel under the exclusive command and control of the late regime leader…

In 2010, President Obama’s National Security Council issued a Statement declaring, “We are concerned that international observers found that the elections fell short of international commitments…  An environment conducive to free and fair elections was not in place even before Election Day. In recent years, the Ethiopian government has taken steps to restrict political space for the opposition through intimidation and harassment, tighten its control over civil society, and curtail the activities of independent media…”

Today opposition parties and leaders are harassed, intimidated, jailed, persecuted and prosecuted.

Regarding the Oromo people TPLF led regime keep torturing Like Nothing, Murdering like Chickens, Land Occupation, Ethnic Cleansing; Genocide, Oppression and Exploitation By terrorist organization of TPLF remained non-ending war. Genocide Watch says the FBI is aware of the Tigray People Liberation Front (TPLF) and identifies them as a terrorist organization.“ The Ethiopia TPLF lead regime on its persistent genocidal actions against innocent and unarmed civilians of Oromo and other nation and nationalities who attempt to exercise their democratic rights“.

Even those who flee from their country to neighbouring countries to escape these atrocities of the Ethiopian government also face unparalleled atrocities either by hosting governments or by the cross-border raids undertaken by the Ethiopian government.

In general TPLF led EPRDF led the country  deteriorate even more, A new report by Human Rights Watch accuses the Ethiopia’s government of systematically cracking down on media ahead of the May 2015 elections.  The report shows details how Ethiopia has restricted independent reporting since 2010.

According to the report, “Journalism Is Not a Crime”, six independent publications closed down in 2014 because of government pressure, 22 journalist, bloggers and publishers were criminally charged and more than 30 journalists fled the country. Most journalists are charged under the widely criticized anti-terrorism proclamation. Currently there is a high profile terrorism case going on in Ethiopia against bloggers of the Zone9 group.

The upcoming 2015 election has been the subject of discussion among everyone, not surprisingly, because the previous experience it has developed the art of lawful illegality transforming the law into a tool for conducting and covering government crimes. Free and fair elections are not in place even before Election Day.
